NEW YORK—September 18, 2018—Morgan James Faith’s new release, Mended Faith: A Life of Abuse, Pain and Redemption by Cornelia Jude with Chris Jones, tells the story of the author’s personal childhood traumas, their effect on her life and psyche, and how her faith journey lead her to overcome her unhealthy coping mechanisms and heal.

Cornelia Jude was the victim of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse for years at the hands of her mother’s boyfriend. The psychological trauma that came as a result drove her to drugs, alcohol, and even self-mutilation, and she’s not alone. These are common responses for victims of abuse, ultimately leading them to lives of pain and turmoil. With Mended Faith, Jude leads abuse survivors on a path of true forgiveness and healing, using her own experiences as the platform.

Mended Faith shows survivors the redeeming love of Christ as the foundation for recovery. Jude and Jones demonstrate the power of God’s love even when one feels lost and unlovable. They relay the Bible’s command to forgive even in the most difficult circumstances. They also encourage victims to break the silence on their abuse, explaining how keeping their pain a secret only perpetuates shame and self-hatred and disallows restoration.

Jude offers her story with vulnerability and grace, building an instant bond with the reader and establishing reliability and understanding with their struggle. With the sensitivity and compassion of a loving friend, Jude helps abuse survivors come to terms with their past and begin to move toward healing. Whether the reader already has their own faith as a source of comfort and guidance or they have no faith background whatsoever, Mended Faith serves as a source of encouragement and support to those dealing with past traumas.
