NEW YORK—July 24, 2018—Morgan James’ new book release, I Am Me: My Personal Journey with My Forty Plus Autistic Son by Marlene Ringler, tells an inspirational and courageous story that is offered as a gift of hope and love to anyone whose life is affected by an autism spectrum diagnosis.

I Am Me is a candid and moving personal narrative about raising a child with autism to adulthood. As the mother of an autistic son, Marlene Ringler understands firsthand the challenges families face as today, one out of 68 children is diagnosed with autism. Yesterday’s autistic child is today’s autistic adult. Mothers, fathers, caregivers, and family members worry about just what will happen to their child when they are no longer around to provide guidance and support. Who will love and look after their child?

Marlene gives special attention to research findings and current investigations into the autism spectrum disorder. Her journey provides a firsthand look at the highs and lows of raising a child on the spectrum, leading towards a greater understanding of how autism can be viewed as part of our human condition. I Am Me is a straightforward and honest story of how a family copes when one member is on the spectrum. It is a journey told through the prism of a mother who offers hope, belief, and conviction that the life of a child with autism can and should be fulfilling and rewarding.

I Am Me supports, guides, and encourages family as they make important decisions regarding the future of their autistic child. It is also written for professionals, educators, spiritual leaders, and other groups interested in autism spectrum issues. Marlene Ringler gives families a platform from which to advocate, support and appreciate their autistic family member.
