NEW YORK—May 5, 2019—Morgan James’ new release, Grateful, Not Dead: Rewire, Not Retire. Re-fire Your Purpose, by Art Mitchell, Ph.D., encourages adults nearing or entering retirement to engage in meaningful work and achieve freedom. Based on his own transformation and work as an international consultant and coach, Art Mitchell, Ph.D., is excited to empower retired men and women to unlock happiness, creativity, and opportunities for service as they age.

Grateful, Not Dead presents the issue of Ageism in American society, and how easily it has shaped everyday attitudes regarding aging. Art Mitchell, Ph.D., explains that perpetuating stereotypes and discriminating against individuals according to their age can cause increased social isolation, depression, and suicide amongst the elderly. Mitchell wants to combat this social behavior by encouraging older generations to age consciously, accepting their mortality rather than focusing on artificial means of staying young or keeping busy.

In Grateful, Not Dead, Art Mitchell, Ph.D., shares his 10-step REWIREMENT process to shape the aging process. He provides personal reflections and insights, demonstrating how to overcome myths about aging, expand conscious understanding, and uncover renewed purpose for future projects. Mitchell explains the importance of becoming an elder, someone who is still learning and investing in others, rather than becoming a miser of time and resources.
