Scott Barlow Explores Self Defense and Public Protection

NEW YORK—December 1, 2015–Morgan James’s new release, Guardians of Necessity: The Ultimate Human Right and Obligation by Scott Barlow, discusses the obligation of human beings to offer aid to others in distress and the right to protect oneself.

In the event of an accident or even a crime, people are often hesitant to offer help. There are several reasons for this. They may be concerned for their own safety, may think someone else will do it, or may think they are misreading the situation and should mind their own business. While any of these could be true, this kind of rationalization often leads to a person in danger not getting the help they need. Due to this, Guardians of Necessity explains why it is our duty to help others in distress.

Most of us tend to think we are not capable of rendering aid in difficult or dangerous situations. We also often worry about the repercussions we will face if we do try to help. In Guardians of Necessity, author and retired police chief Scott Barlow addresses the legal issues surrounding our right and need to help others, the history of this right, and the importance of exercising it. This book also addresses the current arguments and politics revolving around the right to bear arms using an unbiased, unemotional, and reasoned approach.

In addition to discussing self-protection and the protection of others, Scott Barlow addresses law enforcement’s abilities and efforts to protect the public, as well as delving into the politics of the 2nd amendment, the criminal justice system and the media. From safety to legality to good citizenship, Guardians of Necessity: The Ultimate Human Right and Obligation addresses concerns and effectively demonstrates why helping to protect others is absolutely essential to being a good neighbor and community member.
