NEW YORK—April 23, 2019—Morgan James’ new book release, Return to the Wilds by Cindy C., tells the amazing fictional story of two pre-teens’ challenge to save nature in a world entirely centered around technology. Return to the Wilds is a dystopian fantasy that offers a unique world view on institutional forces and the intangible power of the wild and was written primarily for teenage readers.

Return to the Wilds centers around Keren, an activist and biologist, and her mystic sidekick, Caleb. As she experiences the beauty of nature for the first time, Keren is called to save the last remnants of it. Guided by Wildlings and a mysterious Keeper, Keren and Caleb must use geek skills, wits and youthful energy to outsmart underlings of the ominous Dominion and make a powerful pitch for changing the course of human progress.

Return to the Wilds contains timely and important themes for the youth of today. Through Keren’s story, teens are offered new perspectives on issues such as security, development, and nature. Return to the Wilds features strong female characters with diverse skills and ethnicities and mystical, wonky, and geeky guy sidekicks. Cindy C. illustrates a unique and playful perspective on the foibles of urbanization, development, and bureaucracy while instilling young readers with the courage to change their world for the better using their own unique abilities.
