NEW YORK—May 7, 2019— Morgan James’s new release from Debbie Cunningham, Dancing in the Kitchen: Hope and Help for Staying in Love, is a lighthearted, yet honest look at what it takes to build lasting love in marriage, even through adversity. Debbie writes using experiences from her own marriage and targets mature (30-65) married women seeking encouragement and relatable stories in overcoming the struggles of marriage.

Over 60 million married couples are living in the United States, and every one of them is challenged daily to remain together, strong in love. Married to her high school sweetheart for more than thirty years, Debbie was unwilling to sit idly by while divorce rates climbed higher. Debbie’s marriage has weathered seasons of grief, most notably her daughters unexpected health issues, and she uses them to provide hope for other couples in their journey for making love last. Dancing in the Kitchen was inspired by her latest jazz album, A Million Kisses, and is her contribution to the fight for marital happiness.

Saying ‘I do’ does not guarantee happiness or success. Dancing in the Kitchen encourages women seeking to improve their marriage through stories of couples walking through difficult times and how they ultimately stayed together. The stories are ones of grief, infidelity, serious illness, loss, infertility, addiction, depression, and even an arranged marriage. Debbie explores the practices that build connecting points in a relationship and provides insight from the trenches of marriage. Above all, Dancing in the Kitchen normalizes the struggles that any marriage can face and shares tools to move through adversity while cultivating true intimacy. Through Dancing in the Kitchen, Debbie Cunningham offers hope that staying in love through the storms of marriage is possible. Debbie achieves this goal by offering up her own marital struggles and those of many others. With lighthearted candor, Dancing in the Kitchen reveals to readers how to cultivate connection with their spouse in the hard seasons and stay in love for a lifetime.
