Find Peace and Spiritual Growth With Mindfulness Practice

NEW YORK—February 11, 2020—Morgan James’s new release, Learning to BE: Reconstructing Peace & Spiritual Health, by Chad E. Jarnagin, challenges the modern approach of deconstructing Christian theology for the sole sake of dismantling it, rather than for the purpose of repairing and replacing broken theology with truth. As an Anglican Priest, Chad E. Jarnagin is concerned for the younger generation of believers who seem to be abandoning their faith out of fatigue and frustration with the culture of Christianity and the abuses of the modern church.

Learning to BE explains that there is an alarming number of people leaving the Christian church due to a subversive moment of deconstructionist theology. Chad E. Jarnagin understands that the process of deconstructing one’s faith can be helpful, but he claims that, without intentional reconstruction, people end up doing more harm than good. He recognizes that many Christians are returning to the liturgy of the early Church as an antidote to the overly-produced mega-church reality of modern Christianity. In Learning to BE, Jarnagin shares his life-changing approach to develop healthy and consistent spiritual growth.

Chad E. Jarnagin posits that people are not able to move forward with new, healthy practices without first identifying and healing from past toxins, abuse, and unhealthy behaviors. Jarnagin identifies the past hurdles many believers face in order to show them how to move beyond those hurdles, emphasizing the need for stillness, reflection, and a slower pace. He also provides weekly worship directions and traditions that can reorient a life of confusion into one of devotion. Jarnagin addresses the spiritual practices specific to Anglicanism, as well as Benedictine and Ignatian Spirituality, in order to help adults of all sectors of faith to rebuild and heal from past betrayals.

Chad has abundant experience as a singer and songwriter, including being the lead singer for Amount Thorns from 2000-2006 and a 2004 GMA DOVE Award Nominee (Gospel Music Association), with over six albums released. He has been the keynote, artist, and workshop speaker for many conferences worldwide. He was named Top Ten 2009 Top Nashville Bloggers and included in the 2013 40 Under 40 Change-Makers in Rejuvenate Magazine. Heal and Grow Spiritually by Knowing the Feminine Nature of God

NEW YORK—February 11, 2020—Morgan James’s new release, Keep Your Sexy Sacred: Win the War Between the Flesh and the Spirit, by Sabrina Universal Lawton, is an anointed delivery of truth about God and sex. Sabrina Universal Lawton bridges the perceived gap between the secular and the sacred with a new and compelling approach to understanding God.

Keep Your Sexy Sacred explains that the root cause of spiritual deficiency experienced in the world is a limited view of God. Sabrina Universal Lawton believes that God has both feminine and masculine qualities, but that modern Christianity is prone to stifle and ignore God’s feminine attributes. Lawton shares that when individuals are introduced to the feminine qualities of God, they learn how to see women as more than objects of visual pleasure and they embrace the creative power and wisdom of God’s feminine energy within themselves.

In Keep Your Sexy Sacred, Sabrina Universal Lawton exposes her personal testimony of sexuality, exemplifying how others can build their personal relationship with God and transform their struggle with lust into a life of love. Lawton is motivated to raise the Spiritual IQ of Christians and nonbelievers alike, as she believes that Keep Your Sexy Sacred can serve as a catalyst to heal the strained relationships between men and women. She wants to share Jesus’ direct messages of love and acceptance with anyone battling lust or the scars of sexual abuse, as she believes that studying these biblical principles will dismantle religious dogma, demystify the original sin, and allow men and women to see the Bible like never before.

How Families Heal from Substance Abuse, Addiction, and Overdose

NEW YORK—February 4, 2020— Morgan James’s new release, Don’t Forget Me: A Lifeline of HOPE for Those Touched by Substance Abuse and Addiction, by Steve M. Grant, is a survival manual and lifeline for those whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse and addiction. Grant shares the tragic story of how drug use impacted his family, with the hopes of encouraging and guiding parents to see warning signs and take action before it is too late.

With the pervasiveness of opiates like Heroin and Fentanyl, nearly everyone has been affected by illicit substance use, directly or indirectly. Grant understands how terrifying it is to love someone who is addicted to these substances. In Don’t Forget Me, Grant exposes the details of his own experience as a father of two sons, Chris and Kelly, who took distinctly different paths to the same outcome: death by drug overdose. He reveals his parental victories and shortcomings by taking an honest look at the choices he made throughout his sons’ development.

Don’t Forget Me offers time-tested, practical suggestions for family members who want to help their loved ones but are unsure of where to start. Grant wants to help parents of those struggling with substance abuse to avoid the mistakes he made and to find hope, even on the darkest days. Grant hopes that his story can be used as a reference for parents, treatment providers, and recovery professionals, as they work to prevent drug overdose in others. Part of the proceeds from Don’t Forget Me will go to Chris and Kelly’s HOPE Foundation.

A Faith-Filled Guide to Coping with Cancer2020-01-20T19:52:26-05:00

Donating Children’s Books to Encourage Healing

NEW YORK—January 28, 2020—From cancer screenings to surgeries, women’s health to hospice care, MercyOne Medical Centers provide an essential service to their local communities. The medical centers’ origins date back to 1890’s, when the Sisters of Mercy traveled from Dublin, Ireland to the United States with the dream of building a hospital to provide healing and support to those in need. Today, “MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit, Catholic medical centers, as well as two specialty hospitals, providing a total of 965 licensed beds” (MercyOne).

And they need children’s books.

In early January 2020, MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center began gaining attention online due to a photo taken in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU.

“Cassie Baker took the photo of her 13-month-old daughter Parker who was receiving ECMO treatment and Dane Pratt, who is a cardiovascular perfusionist.   It shows Pratt reading to Parker from The Little Engine that Could, a book Pratt received from his grandmother” (MercyOne).

It turns out that Dane Pratt had been reading to many of his young patients in addition to providing their cardiovascular care. Pratt’s actions remind us of just how valuable it is to pair the treatment of physical ailments with personalized care and emotional healing.

After the story was picked up by news outlets, Pratt urged those reading and sharing the story to donate books to the MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, to ensure that there were more than enough books for young patients.

At Pratt’s call to action, Morgan James Book Publishing will be donating copies of 37 various titles from our Children’s Catalog to MercyOne Medical Centers, including Mermaids on Mars, Stranded in a Snowstorm, The Adventures Of Andy Ant, and Pippin No Lickin’. We encourage other publishers, industry professionals, authors, and individuals to consider the impact it can make on the lives of the young patients should they do the same.

If you would like to donate books to MercyOne Medical Centers, please send them to:
